My take:

My initial response was pretty flat, nothing overtly flashy, but a few more tools we can use for options besides another year of boring combat swords. Subtle didn't look like anything great in any shape or form for raids aside from the tri-spec usage. How prep would be used for the new abilities I'm not sure of. Combat really didn't get much help aside from literally the 50 pt talent and tier before.

The new 40 pt combat tree talents Unfair advantage and stay of execution are worthless for PvE, and too deep for a PvP build. Murder spree and Prey on the Weak look pretty solid. But in all fairness, we've waited far too goddamn long for a talent that really defines the spec.

Subtle... is all PvP, especially with a joke of a 50 pt talent having you stealth every 3 seconds for 9 seconds. No damage boost, no multipliers. It's about as useless as imp distract imo. Needs a severe overhaul for so many talents needed for this shitbucket skill. Waylay and Honor Among Thieves are ok talents, but once again, balancing the spec around arena is retarded. Rogues want options, not to be pigeonholed.

Now on to the Assassination tree... This tree got amped imo, and may even prove to be viable in raids. I had to reread a lot of these and noticed its costing less talents for more gain [Vile poisons, Imp poisons] and all of the new assassination talents are great [One being a PvP talent, Turn the Tables.] seemingly viable for PvP and PvE. It looks very promising as far as something new to try.

Overall, I was quite disappointed that Combat talents did not get looked at nearly as much as druid ones, or even as much as the assassination tree. We still have useless talents like Blade twisting and throwing specialization, so far deep in the tree you have to wonder why they are there. Would love to have something like +haste talents, or more hit, something that *adds* damage.

Was hoping there would be some hope a deeper Sub tree could be raid viable, but nope. Blizzard is balancing this game way too much around its PvP aspect, too many talents revolve around it, being useless for PvE trash/encounters. The 51 pt sub talent blows my mind with wtf were they thinking. I'd expect it to get changed to anything useful.

As ive said up until now, and until the expansion hits, take all these new talents with a grain of salt, they all can and probably will change or be adjusted, dont get your panties in a bunch yet.
